As part of National Apprenticeship Week, after completing six months of his apprenticeship, we chat with Tommy about this experience of his apprenticeship scheme.

During the Autumn, we were delighted to welcome our new apprentice, Tommy, to the business.

As it’s National Apprenticeship Week and as six months have nearly passed since Tommy joined the Frost business, we thought we would catch up with him to see how his apprenticeship is going, how his role has developed, and what he has learned.

Tommy feels he has settled well in his new role. He has been learning how the business operates, understanding internal processes, and how the business supports its customers. These have helped him develop his confidence and knowledge.

Tommy has been working on several projects to date, which have included:

·        Improving internal processes

·        Supporting Windows 11 upgrades

·        Setting up communication tools such as WhatsApp Business

·        Assisting with hardware upgrades, new laptop installations, and desktop setups

·        As well as working on some customer-facing projects

Tommy highlights working on the recent Driffield RUFC project as one memorable project. He was involved in the setup phase, testing, and then installing on the site with Joe.

The apprenticeship scheme has allowed Tommy to enhance his technical skills, such as configuring, building, and installing laptops both on and off the domain, supporting upgrades and hardware changes, as well as gaining theoretical knowledge, including the importance of security, security policies, firewalls, hardware and software troubleshooting, and GDPR.

It’s been nice to spotlight Tommy’s progress and some of the projects he has already worked on.

Well done, Tommy, from the Frost team.
